— a city where Zen, nature, and art harmonize.
In this 3-hour retreat, you’ll explore Japanese mindfulness through movement, scent, sound, taste, and touch, connecting deeply with the essence of Japanese culture

Retreat Venue

Step onto a Authentic Noh Stage

In the heart of Kamakura — a city known for its samurai history and Zen spirit — you’ll find a rare chance to step onto an authentic Noh stage, a sacred place where art, mindfulness, and tradition meet.

For over 600 years, the Noh stage has represented the beauty of silence and simplicity in Japanese culture.
Built from natural wood and open to the surrounding garden, it carries a quiet energy where every sound and movement feels alive.

Just being in this peaceful space — surrounded by stillness, history, and natural — feels like a retreat for the soul.

4 Japanese Mindfulness Experiences

Experience Japanese Mindfulness through the Five Senses.

Savor the Japanese Garden

Walking Meditation

Walk slowly and mindfully through a serene Japanese garden. Ground your feet and feel the gentle rhythm of nature with every breath. Each step becomes a quiet meditation — a way to truly savor the beauty of stillness.

Listen to the Incense

Sora Daki

Sora Daki is a traditional Japanese incense ritual that dates back to the Heian period. In Kōdō, the way of incense, one does not “smell” the fragrance — one listens to it. Experience the gentle art of “listening” to fragrance, as the subtle scent drifts softly through the air.

Stillness on a noh stage

Meditation

Experience deep stillness on an authentic Noh stage, a sacred space of silence and mindfulness.
Listen to the gentle sounds of nature — the wind, the birds, the quiet rhythm of life — and let yourself simply be.

Be Present at Engawa

Japanese Tea & Wagashi

Relax on a traditional engawa (wooden veranda) overlooking a peaceful garden.
Savor Japanese Green Tea and seasonal wagashi, enjoying the beauty of stillness and simplicity.
