KAMAKURA
Kamakura is a historic city located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Easily accessible from Tokyo and you can visit from the central Tokyo in 1 hour. Kamakura is the city which history, modernity and beautiful nature merge. It's known for its beautiful beaches, lush green hills, and historic temples and shrines.
Kamakura retains a sense of traditional Japanese culture, and its historic atmosphere is well-preserved. The city's narrow streets, wooden buildings, and old-style houses are great places to experience traditional Japanese culture.
ZEN
Kamakura has a significant connection to Zen. During the Kamakura period, samurai practiced Zen to keep their mind calm and clear. Japanese culture was influenced by ZEN - such as Noh Theater, the Tea Ceremony, Japanese Gardening, and Kaiseki Ryouri. Japan's culture has its roots in Zen.
